About

Maria Lanas is a visual artist working across painting, drawing, and archival practice.
Her work explores systems of care, perception, and maintenance—examining how lived experience and internal states become structured over time.

Through abstract fields, vessels, landscapes, and aerospace-inspired studies, her practice traces a movement from orientation, to stewardship, to integration.

Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private and institutional collections.

Lanas is the founder of Projekt Postcard, a long-term initiative centered on connection and exchange, and the cofounder of I AM Conversations, a curated platform for thoughtful dialogue with artists, leaders, and innovators.

She is also the cofounder of Space for Art Foundation. She lives and works in the United States.
